Abstract


The phenomenon of flexing, especially through social media, is increasingly being carried out by many people, from many walks of life. This happens because social media has become a very popular platform, and is widely used by the public. These actions sometimes cause public awe, but can also potentially generate public trust to do something. Likewise in Surabaya, the city with the second largest internet usage in Indonesia, many flexing phenomena have emerged, most of which are carried out by students. Meanwhile, in the legal context, especially criminal law, it determines that actions that cause harm to the wider community are qualified as criminal acts. In short, flexing can lead to criminal offences. The main ones are digital economic crimes, because the mode used is economic activity through digital devices. the research being conducted was to analyze the phenomenon of student flexing in Surabaya from a legal standpoint, related to digital economy crimes. The method used in this research is normative legal research or literature with a Conceptual Approach, namely the problems described are studied and formulated by prioritizing concepts.
