Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms of studentmetacognition in the differential equations course. This type of research is qualitative research. Thesubject that became the research sample was differential equations. The subjects of this study were4th semester students of the mathematics education study program, STKIP YPUP Makassar. Theresults of student work are described based on mathematical problem-solving abilities in terms ofmetacognition. The results showed that there were students who had poor metacognition, goodenough, and very good. To improve mathematical problem solving skills, it is necessary to providereinforcement in the form of problem-solving-based exercises so that students' metacognition canimprove.
