Universitas Negeri Surabaya 2017
The Consortium of Asia-Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU) in coordination with Universitas Negeri Surabaya invites educators, graduate students, researchers, and faculty members of the CAPEU and of other countries to present papers and posters to the 4th CAPEU International Research Conference on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) “Innovations for Human Talents” to be held on May 22nd-23rd, 2017 at Rectorate Bld., Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Lidah Wetan Campus of Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia.
This two-day conference aims to bring together educators, graduate students, researchers, and faculty members of the CAPEU and of other countries to contribute to the concept of STEM in education and formulate goals on how this can be applied and implemented in their respective countries.
The offered strands focus on theoretical perspectives and conceptualizations of globalization and explores possibilities to both broaden and deepen our understandings of, and views of, teaching and learning, assessment, community engagement, job opportunities in STEM, parents’ involvement in enhancing STEM, as well as issues and challenges in STEM. Researchers and presenters will present their papers that situate the position and challenges of STEM in education policies, theories, and practices within multiple layers of global-local contexts whereby discursive practices regarding complex issues of STEM in cultural and intercultural education are both elaborated and constrained. By constructively challenging and providing new insights into evolving epistemic models for STEM in today’s education, this collaborative event brings to contribute to international collaborative efforts to open up new possibilities, insights, and mutual understanding for intercultural/multicultural education in the wired world.
